The solid moon watched the death of night
The ocean groaned, straining to push the tide
Dew wet, clutched by the trembling hands of time
The blanket of dawn fell
So slowly to reveal Mother Earth
Silhouetted against the horizon- in the throes of birth
The crowning glory peeped, blotching the sky fire red
In the symphony the trees swayed
To the hearing of waves….
As if on cue awoke the birds
I wittering in confusion, heralding
The arrival of a new day.
